Welcome Message
It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 26th Annual Congress of the Brachytherapy Group of the Japanese Society for Radiation Oncology to be held at the G-Messe Gunma on May 24-25, 2024.
The theme of the congress is "Connecting to Brighten the Future of Brachytherapy". In particular, we hope to focus on the following "connections" that we need to improve.
Technological advancement and innovation: The evolution of brachytherapy has been the result of the incorporation of new technical innovations and the wisdom of experts. This technology has been passed down and improved from generation to generation. What can we do in the future?
Patient safety: Advanced medical care should go hand in hand with patient safety. Recently, more attention has been paid to encouraging patient participation in medical care.
Regional cooperation: Since brachytherapy is performed in a limited number of facilities, cooperation among regional hospitals is necessary to efficiently utilize medical resources. A multidisciplinary approach is also important!
Global Connections: The brachytherapy community in each country is smaller than external beam radiotherapy and should be linked overseas, especially in Asian countries where many cervical cancer patients require brachytherapy. Look at Asia!
We hope to share various "connections" in the field of brachytherapy with you in Gunma and hope to make our congress fruitful.
We look forward to seeing you in Gunma!
